October 3, 2019, marked a significant day for Kenyan shooter Eric Wachira as he achieved a milestone in his shooting career.

Wachira, who represented Kenya in the IDPA Championships at False Bay Sports Shooting Club in Capetown, South Africa, demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, ultimately classifying as a Master under the watch of Safety Officer (MA) Mohammed Omar.

With an impressive score of 17.81, Wachira outdid himself and became the 4th Master in Kenya, joining the ranks of Masters Robert Nyamongo, Mohammed Omar, and Sammy Onyango.

His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, as he also bagged a bronze medal in the Expert ESP division with a score of 396.79 in the African Champs tourney.

Wachira's journey to becoming a Master began with his success at the Bamburi Rifle Club in Mombasa, where he emerged as the overall ESP Expert winner at the first-ever IDPA Sanctioned match in Kenya.

As a result of his classification, Wachira will now compete alongside the reigning IDPA Africa champion Ian Van Der Bank at the IDPA World Championships in Alabama later this month.
