Kenya's Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has issued a directive requiring all employees to wear uniforms to work, starting from Monday to Thursday.
According to a letter sent to all employees, County Secretary Leboo Ole Morintat emphasized that all employees must adhere to the Public Service Regulations.
"Each public officer holds a position of great importance and must ensure that their behavior in public or private does not compromise the dignity of the office they hold," Morintat stated.
As per the new directive, employees are required to wear uniforms and ensure that they tie their hair properly to maintain a professional image.
Female employees are also required to dress in a way that does not compromise their male colleagues.
The directive comes after a long-standing debate on the dress code for county employees, with various professions having different dress codes.

"Kila mafanyikazi wa umma anashikilia nafasi muhimu na anafaa kuhakikisha kuwa tabia yake kwenye umma ama kibinafsi haikosie heshima afisi anayofanyia kazi," alisema Morintat.
