On October 3, 2019, the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) issued a letter declaring the Sure Brand of lubricated condoms as unsafe for human use.

The condoms in question were manufactured by Lifeline Laboratories in Thailand and were found to have quality issues.

According to the letter, the affected condoms had batch numbers 17DN754 and 17DN052 and were set to expire between December 2021 and December 2022.

A leakage test conducted on the condoms was inconclusive, raising further concerns about their effectiveness.

Lifeline Laboratories has urged users to carefully check the brand name and date on the packaging material and foil wrapping and dispose of any faulty condoms.

The recall has caused panic across the country, with many people concerned about the safety of the condoms.
