On July 25, 2019, Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac were targeted in a botched robbery attempt in London.

Footage of the incident showed Kolasinac, nicknamed The Tank, trying to fend off two men wearing helmets and dark clothing.

After a high-speed chase in his G-Wagon, Ozil sought refuge in a Turkish restaurant.

Both players were uninjured in the incident, but they missed several key Arsenal fixtures due to their poor psychological state.

Another suspect, 26-year-old Jordan Northover, is also set to be charged for the incident.

Ashley Smith, 30, has pleaded guilty to attempting to steal watches from Ozil and Kolasinac.

He is set to be sentenced on November 1.
