Published on October 3, 2019, a statement from the Tanzanian government has sparked a heated debate about the citizenship of Diamond Platnumz' children with Zari Hassan.

According to Ally Mtanda, a representative of the Tanzanian government, the children, Tiffah and Nillan, are Tanzanian citizens. This contradicts Zari's previous claims that they are South African citizens.

When asked about the citizenship of the children, Mtanda explained,

"Zari said all her kids are South African, she is right because she lives there. With that said, her children become South African automatically. However, the kids are also Tanzanians because their dad is Tanzanian. In short, they have dual citizenship because the law allows them to have two passports at the same time."

The statement has left many wondering what Zari will say about this development and whether she would allow her children to visit their father in Tanzania.
