Published on October 3, 2019, Kenya's Timothy Cheruiyot will spearhead the country's charge to retain the world title in the men's 1500m event at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Cheruiyot, a world 1500m silver medalist, will be out to ensure Kenya retains the title in the absence of defending champion Elijah Manangoi.
However, the Kenyans will face stiff competition from Norway's Filip Ingebrigtsen and Ethiopia's duo Samuel Tefera and Tedesse Lemi.
Meanwhile, world 1500m champion Faith Chepngetich will line up in the women's semi-finals alongside teammate Winny Chebet.
Day 7 of the championships will feature the men's 1500m heats at 10pm, with George Manangoi, Timothy Cheruiyot, and Ronald Kwemoi set to compete. The women's 1500m semi-finals will take place at 11pm, with Faith Kipyegon and Winny Chebet in action.
The men's 400m final will be held at 11.50pm, with Emmanuel Korir set to compete.
