On October 3, 2019, a murder case filed in Kiambu against Peter Karanja was adjourned until next Thursday for the purpose of confirming the case number.

The case relates to the murder of Tob Cohen, whose body was found dumped in a tank at his Kitisuru home.

Prosecution had filed the murder case against Karanja at the Milimani registry.

Senior Principal Magistrate Stellah Stambo set the mention date after being informed that Karanja was expected to be arraigned before Kiambu court after spending 14 days in police custody.

He had been detained for detectives to complete their probe into the murder of Cohen.

It is alleged that detectives found evidence linking Karanja to the gruesome murder.

Alongside Karanja, Sarah Cohen, the wife of the late businessman, has also been charged with the murder and has been in custody for weeks as investigations continued.

Tob Cohen was laid to rest on September 24, 2019, in a ceremony attended by close family and friends at the Jewish cemetery on Wangari Maathai Road.
