Abdi Hassan's life took a drastic turn three years ago when he was electrocuted by Governor Sonko's bodyguard during a motorcade in Nairobi.

On October 3, 2017, Governor Sonko's motorcade was making its way down the stretch between Serena Hotel and Uhuru Highway. Abdi, like many other youthful Nairobians, excitedly followed the motorcade.

At some point, Abdi managed to hang onto one of the chase cars, but one of the guards reached for a stun gun and used it on him. Abdi fell down and hit the pavement hard, thinking it was an electrocution.

After the incident, Abdi's close friends rushed him to a city hospital, where he was diagnosed with a spinal injury. A medical report from Nairobi West hospital indicates that Abdi suffers from weakened muscles.

Today, Abdi's limbs are too weak to even maintain a handshake. His family has been taking care of him for over a year now, and his elderly mother is longing for the day her son will be well again.

Abdi's family claims that they tried reaching out to Governor Sonko after the incident, but their efforts were unsuccessful. They even managed to get his attention during an event in Nairobi in 2018, but their son was thrown out of hospital on the fifth day after admission by Sonko's goons.

Abdi's family has never reached out to Sonko since then, as their efforts to text or call him have never borne any fruits.
