On October 3, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made headlines at the annual Nairobi International Trade Fair by outbidding high-end butchers for a prized bull.

The brown Borana bull, weighing 630kg, was the center of attention, with various butcheries vying for the opportunity to sell it to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

As the bidding process progressed, it narrowed down to Sonko and Diamond Cuts Butcher, based in Diamond Plaza, with the latter making a final bid of Sh750,000.

However, Sonko countered with an unbeatable bid of Sh800,000, securing the prized bull for the President.

Not content with just one bull, Sonko splashed an additional Sh690,000 to purchase yet another bull.
