Nairobi Man Quits Accountancy Job to Care for Bed-Ridden Mother ¶
John Mututo, a Nairobi resident, has made the difficult decision to quit his accountancy job at the airport to care for his bed-ridden mother, Vicky Kiio.
Ms. Kiio, a widow, was diagnosed with a rare bone disease four years ago and has been confined to her bed ever since. The disease has weakened her bones, making it difficult for her to move or perform daily tasks.
John, who is the only child of Ms. Kiio, has taken on the responsibility of caring for his mother. He does almost all the chores at home, including changing her clothes, bathing her, and providing her with food and medication.
Despite the challenges, John remains optimistic that his mother will recover from the disease. He has asked well-wishers to assist them in overcoming the financial burden of caring for Ms. Kiio.
Ms. Kiio, who is a trained teacher, has expressed her gratitude to her son for his selfless act. She has described John as a 'wonder and super son' who has sacrificed his life to care for her.
John's decision to quit his job has not been easy, but he believes it is necessary to ensure his mother receives the best care possible. He has asked for assistance from well-wishers to help them overcome the financial challenges they are facing.
Ms. Kiio's condition has not only affected her physically but also emotionally. She has developed a clot, which is a threat to her condition, and has been confined to her bed for four years.
Despite the challenges, Ms. Kiio remains hopeful that she will recover from the disease and return to her teaching profession. She has expressed her desire to go back to work and teach, but for now, she is grateful for her son's care and support.
