Published on October 3, 2019, a woman who claims she was falsely diagnosed with HIV at Thika Level 5 Hospital in 2017 has been told she could still be ill due to a low viral load.
Ann Wambui, a mother of two, had accused the hospital of giving her a false diagnosis when she went to get tested for HIV/AIDS back in 2017.
However, doctors at the hospital insist that Ann could still be ill and her recent negative diagnosis could be a result of a low viral load.
Speaking to NTV, medics at the hospital called upon Ann to continue taking her medication religiously and agree to undergo a series of tests.
"Most of the time when you have taken the drugs and they are effective, the viral load reaches undetectable levels," said Grace Muthoni, a doctor at the hospital.
The hospital further insists that the kits used to test Ann back in 2017 were not faulty.
