The summit, which concluded on Friday, October 4, 2019, aimed to bridge the gap between sportsmen and women with intellectual disabilities, promoting social inclusion and acceptance through sports.
Delegates from Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Tanzania, Mauritius, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe attended the summit.
Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Amina Mohammed, welcomed the delegates, stating, 'Sports has to build a world where everyone is accepted, respected and dignified, therefore you are both the foundation and the building blocks of a unified generation.'
