Chelsea vs Lille: Blues Win Thrilling Match 2-1 in Champions League

Published on October 3, 2019, at 7:47 AM

Chelsea bounced back from their opening loss to Valencia with a 2-1 win over Lille in the Champions League, thanks to goals from Tammy Abraham and Willian.

Abraham opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, heading in a cross from Willian, who was played in by Callum Hudson-Odoi. The Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen equalized for Lille just 10 minutes later, but Willian sealed the win for Chelsea in the second half.

The win puts Chelsea in second place in Group H, behind leaders Ajax.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard made several changes to his starting lineup, including the return of N'Golo Kante, who had been sidelined with a knee injury.

Abraham's goal was his third in the Champions League this season, and he has now scored in three consecutive matches for Chelsea.
