Ugandan dancehall musician Jose Chameleone has found himself in a precarious situation after receiving death threats via text messages.

According to reports, the singer received the threats on September 10th, with the sender demanding 5 million shillings. Chameleone reportedly ignored the messages, but the blackmailers returned with another demand of 8 million shillings.

Chameleone took to Facebook to share the details of the alleged death threats, stating that he had already made a police report and was calling on investigators to speed up their investigations and apprehend the culprits.

‘I have been receiving threats. This person calling himself General, I first received a message on the 10th September, they demanded 5Million or I get killed,’ Jose wrote.

Chameleone, who is planning to plunge into politics and reportedly wants to be the mayor of Kampala, has relocated his family to the USA as a precaution against the volatile nature of Ugandan politics.
