East African Safari Air Express, formerly known as Fly-SAX, is reviving its Nairobi-Isiolo route after a 15-month absence. The airline will resume flights on October 11, 2019, following regulatory approvals from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.
The route will be served by a Beechcraft-1900 aircraft, carrying 16 passengers, and will operate twice a week from Wilson airport. According to the airline's director, George Kivindyo, the decision to resume operations was made after a previous attempt from September 2017 to June 2018.
Initially, the airline cited poor performance as the reason for halting services. However, with renewed efforts, East African Safari Air Express aims to increase frequency to daily flights, pending support from relevant stakeholders.
George Kivindyo stated, 'We have done it before from September 2017 and withdrew operations in June 2018. We are now resuming operations starting October 11, 2019, after getting regulatory approvals from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority.'
