On October 2, 2019, a letter was written to the DCI by the Garissa watchdog community accusing Fafi MP Abdikarim Osman Mohamed of stealing Ksh12.5 million contributed for madrassas in his constituency.

The money was contributed by Garissa MP Aden Duale and Deputy President William Ruto in a harambee organized a while back. According to the Garissa watchdog Community, the money was supposed to help several Madrassas in Garissa but the Sheiks have already confirmed that they have not yet received the money.

Close sources have told Nyakundi Report that the MP has already been asked to produce the money or face the law. The Madrassas expected to receive the money include Alinjuqur, Nanighi, Bura, Kamuthe and Dekaharja.
