Machachari Actors Baha and Govi Address Show Cancellation

Malik Lenny alias Govi and Tyler Mbaya Kamau alias Baha, the popular Machachari actors, have come out to address the cancellation of their show.

Speaking in an Instagram video, Govi confirmed that the show would no longer be airing on Citizen TV but denied claims it was due to their advanced age.

According to Govi, he and Baha left the show in January 2019, and everything was running smoothly until recently when it stopped airing.

Govi strongly denied claims that the show was cancelled due to pressure from fans who claimed the boys had overgrown and were no longer fit for the drama.

''Guys have been asking what happened to my previous show, I do not know what I can tell you but I left the show in January and you guys should stop believing the lies going round out there about the show being cancelled because we over grew, please do not listen to such,' Govi said.

He added, ''It is true the show has been canceled and we feel bad about it but everything that has a beginning must have an end. Me and Baha left the show in January so please give us some space. For those asking if we are good financially, we are okay, we are well set,'

His sentiments were echoed by Baha, who re-shared the video.

The show, which was a major hit when it began 13 years ago, lost traction as the characters grew older and entered their teenage and young adulthood.

Reports indicated that fans were no longer interested in the show, and its ratings were plummeting by the day.

As a result, the Royal Media Services management decided to pull the plug on the show and replace it with a new one, Johari, which focuses on young children and is shot in the Mt. Kenya area.
