On October 2, 2019, Twitter Inc faced a global outage that left thousands of users worldwide unable to tweet, receive notifications, or view direct messages.

The company acknowledged the issue in a tweet, stating, "You might have had trouble Tweeting, getting notifications, or viewing DMs. We're currently working on a fix, and should be back to normal soon."

According to Outage.report, a website that monitors outages, more than 4,000 reports of the incident were received globally, including from Japan, Canada, and India.

TweetDeck, a platform used by reporters and content creators to monitor tweets from multiple accounts, was also affected, with users experiencing issues with log-in attempts.

Twitter representatives had earlier told Reuters that the company was investigating issues with TweetDeck.
