Published on October 2, 2019, a Nairobi court has been informed that Monica Okoth, the wife of late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, has accepted DNA evidence confirming that her late husband is the biological father of Anne Thumbi's son.

According to a consent filed in court, Monica, Okoth's mother, and Thumbi have all agreed to close the matter after DNA results confirmed that Okoth is the minor's biological father.

Monica's lawyer, Walker Kontos, stated that all parties have agreed that Okoth is the minor's biological father, citing DNA results that indicate 'the alleged father is not excluded as the biological father of the child.'

Monica had previously disputed the DNA results, which were produced by an independent pathologist and confirmed by KEMRI, stating that the chances of Okoth being the father of Thumbi's son were 99.99 per cent.

Senior principal magistrate Margaret Obura had directed Monica to produce her DNA test results within 14 days, but it appears that she has now accepted the evidence.
