Kenya's national football team will face Eritrea in the semi-finals of the Cecafa U-20 Championship on October 2, 2019, at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Uganda.

Rising Stars coach Stanley Okumbi is confident in his team's abilities but warns against underestimating the opponents. Eritrea is the highest-scoring side in the tournament, and Okumbi is aware of the threat they pose.

Okumbi observed Eritrea's quarterfinal match against Zanzibar and noted their strong defensive and offensive capabilities. He believes that to win the tournament, his team must play against the best teams.

Okumbi expressed confidence in his team's game plan, stating, 'If we implement it, then I am comfortable we will be in the final.'

However, the team may be without the services of highly-rated midfielder Musa Masika, who will undergo a late fitness test. His chances of playing are 50-50, but Okumbi has faith in his entire squad.

Eritrea's coach, Haile Efrem, anticipates a tough match but believes his team is ready to prove they are not pushovers. He stated, 'We know Kenya are a good side, but we are ready to prove that we did not get to the semi-final by fluke.'

The other semi-final match will feature Sudan against Tanzania in Gulu at 3pm.
