Published on October 2, 2019, Citizen TV announced the end of its beloved show Machachari, leaving fans wondering what's next.

Launched as a kids' show, Machachari followed the lives of a young boy and girl growing up in Nairobi. However, as the characters matured, the show's storyline became outdated.

Speaking to Kiss100, production manager Stanley Ngige explained the decision to end the show: 'The story came to an end. This Friday is the grand finale. The show started as a kids' show, but the characters outgrew it. It didn't evolve to remain relevant to the target audience, and the best we could do is develop the story to come to an end so that we can start a new show ('Johari') for the same target audience.'

Ngige assured that the crew was well-prepared for the show's conclusion, with counseling sessions, mentorship, and career guidance. He also highlighted the positive feedback from the crew, who are now pursuing their passions, with some even recording music albums.

Ngige reflected on the experience of working with the Machachari crew, saying, 'Seeing them grow up and become professionals and attract advertisements for TV was amazing.'

However, the news of Machachari's end was overshadowed by a false rumor about the show's director's wife, Mama Baha, who was mistakenly reported to have passed away. Thankfully, she is alive and well.

Read more here to learn about the crew's future endeavors and the truth behind the rumor.
