Hillary Clinton's Toughest Decision: Staying in Marriage After Bill's Affair

On October 1, 2019, Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea appeared on ABC's Good Morning America to promote their book, The Book of Gutsy Women.

During the interview, Hillary Clinton made a surprising statement, saying that the gutsiest thing she has ever done personally was to make the decision to stay in her marriage to former President Bill Clinton.

As you may recall, Bill Clinton survived impeachment in the late 1990s over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Hillary, then first lady, famously stood by her husband.

Clinton's decision to stay married to former President Bill Clinton, despite his affair, is a testament to her strength and resilience.

According to Hillary Clinton, publicly, politically, and personally, she has faced many challenges, but staying in her marriage was her toughest personal decision.

Bill Clinton was alleged to have had an affair with Monica Lewinsky 20 years ago. The Senate ultimately acquitted Bill Clinton during an impeachment trial over the scandal, and he finished his term as President.

Responding to the same question from her daughter, Chelsea said her mother's response was so overwhelming that she ran out of words.

Clinton has been on the media circuit for the last few days promoting the book, and has been vocal about the impeachment inquiry into Trump. She said that she supports Nancy Pelosi’s decision to start an impeachment inquiry.
