On October 4, 2019, Royal Media Services (RMS) bid farewell to Deputy Director in-charge of Radio Simaloi Dajom Otieno, who had served the media house for 16 years.

Ms. Otieno, the daughter-in-law of former cabinet Minister Dalmas Otieno, started her career at RMS as an intern and rose through the ranks to become a Radio Producer, News Anchor, Programs Manager, and eventually Deputy Director- Radio, a position she held for six years.

According to RMS, Ms. Otieno will be replaced by Vincent Kimani, who has been in-charge of the Mount Kenya cluster of radio stations owned by RMS.

Ms. Otieno's departure from RMS is not the only change in the media house. Business Executive Lilian Kerubo of Ramogi Radio Direct Sales has also announced her exit, citing the experience she gained during her time at RMS as 'immeasurable.'

Ms. Kerubo's last working day at RMS was not specified in the article.

Ms. Otieno's new role at Mediamax Ltd as Head of Radio and Chief Radio Content & Strategy Manager marks a significant move in her career, replacing former Mediamax's Head of Radio Joyce Gituro, who was also poached from rival station Radio Citizen.
