Published on October 2, 2019, the Tob Cohen murder case has taken a dramatic turn with fresh allegations of a leaked court order.

Lawyer Philip Murgor, representing Sarah Wairimu, the main suspect in the murder of her husband Tob Cohen, accused the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) of defying a court order by leaking information about the arrest of President Uhuru Kenyatta's cousin.

According to Murgor, a journalist had been given the information by the DCI, which he claimed was a clear breach of the court's directive.

"There's a publication that a second cousin of President Uhuru Kenyatta has been arrested. I called the journalists and he said he was given the information by the DCI," Murgor said.

The prosecution denied the allegations, stating that they would investigate the source of the leak.

Wairimu, who was escorted to Cohen's burial by prison warders last week, had previously been accused of contempt of court for speaking publicly about the case during the funeral.
