On October 1, 2019, a city court ordered private detective Jane Mugo to present herself to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for questioning.
The court, citing the powers of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, directed Mugo to record a statement, have her fingerprints taken, and present her firearm and certificate.
Mugo's lawyer, Danstan Omari, expressed concerns that police officers wanted her firearm to obtain evidence they did not have, and that his client was yet to be supplied with statements from witnesses who had given their evidence to the police.
The court also directed the prosecution to supply Mugo with the statements, and ordered her to present herself to the investigating officer on Wednesday.
Mugo has denied threatening to kill two individuals, Mr. Patrick Mugasia Kefa and Mr. Deepa Shah, on separate dates.
