September 30, 2019, was a night to forget for Nicolas Pepe as he struggled to make an impact in Arsenal's 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Pepe, who joined the Gunners in a £72million deal from Lille in the summer, has scored just one goal from the penalty spot against Aston Villa since his arrival.

Despite being part of a relatively strong squad named by Unai Emery, Pepe endured a difficult night, failing to shine in front of goal.

"I'm not good enough in my stats or my usual form, it's not the same as in Lille or during the Liverpool match early in the season," Pepe told RMC after the Old Trafford stalemate.

"The confidence must come back. I am not very worried. People may be worried about statistics, but I'm not. I have to keep working because the level is different, so is the language. It's a new championship for me. I have to adapt quickly but it will not be long," he added.
