On September 30th to October 6th, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) will conduct a week-long campaign to educate investors on opportunities, rights, and responsibilities.
The campaign, part of the World Investor Week (WIW), aims to promote investor education and increase familiarity with the scope of investment opportunities.
According to CMA Chief Executive, Mr. Paul Muthaura, the campaign will also provide an opportunity for investors to build awareness of their rights and responsibilities, and develop stronger resistance to scams.
The CMA plans to reach Kenyans through messages on vernacular radio stations and social media, as well as a scavenger hunt targeting its online Resource Centre Portal.
As part of its Investor Awareness Strategy, the CMA has already reached over 150,000 people in 34 counties, and the WIW will allow the Authority to reach both potential capital issues and investor subgroups.
