The WWE universe was left in a frenzy when Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson announced his surprise return to Smackdown on its debut on Friday, October 4.
Johnson, an eight-time WWE champion, had previously announced his retirement from wrestling in August, but it seems he has had a change of heart.
On Twitter, Johnson shared the news with his 14 million followers, stating: "FINALLY...I come back home to my @WWE universe. This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN!"
He also added: "There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp. And there’s no place like home.Tequila on me after the show."
Johnson's last competitive fight was at Wrestlemania 32, where he defeated Eric Rowan in just six seconds.
As one of the highest-paid actors in the world, Johnson has been prioritizing his Hollywood career, but it seems he still has a passion for wrestling.
Johnson's return to Smackdown is set to be a major event, and fans are eagerly awaiting his debut on Friday, October 4.
