On Monday evening, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa made headlines after meeting with ODM Leader Raila Odinga in a surprise visit to her office.

According to Jumwa, the meeting did not take place at the ODM Parliamentary Group meeting held at County Hall, as previously claimed.

"Rt. Hon. Raila makes a surprise visit to my Parliamentary Service Commission's Office this afternoon. This was after he attended the ODM Parliamentary Group meeting at County Hall that I did not attend," she said in a statement on her Facebook account.

ODM Party spokesman Philip Etale had earlier claimed that Jumwa had defected from the Tanga Tanga movement, which supports Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential campaign.

However, Jumwa did not comment on Etale's claim that she had vowed to campaign for ODM Candidate Imran Okoth during the Kibra by-election slated for November 7th.

Okoth was among the people who accompanied Odinga to Jumwa's office, along with Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Saboti's Caleb Amisi.
