On October 1st, 2019, Activision released its popular game franchise Call of Duty on mobile platforms iOS and Android. However, the rollout was not without its quirks, with users in certain regions, such as the United Kingdom, gaining access to the game before others.
For users in regions that were not among the first to receive the game, such as Kenya, the game was still listed as 'coming soon' on the Play Store page. The only option available was to pre-register for the game, which would notify users when it became officially available in their region.
Interestingly, users in regions that were still waiting for the game to become available could circumvent this by accessing the Play Store from the desktop website, signing in to their Google account, searching for Call of Duty Mobile, clicking on install, and selecting their device from the subsequent dropdown.
Call of Duty Mobile is a large game, weighing in at 1.11 GB initially, and requiring a significant amount of local storage. The game features a range of gaming modes, including Search and Destroy, Team Deathmatch, Free for All, Domination, Hardpoint, and Frontline, as well as exclusive battle royale mode.
