Manchester United's Premier League woes continued on September 30, as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford by Arsenal.

With this result, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team has now collected a paltry nine points from their opening seven league games, a record that dates back to the 1989-90 season.

According to Opta, this is the lowest points haul for United at the start of a top-flight season in over three decades.

United's current standing of 10th on the Premier League table is a staggering 12 points behind league leaders Liverpool.

The draw was set up after a historic negative record was set up, leaving Solskjaer under immense pressure.

United opened the scoring just before the break through Scott McTominay's deflected strike from 22 yards, but Arsenal restored parity in the 59th minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brilliant goal.

The goal was nearly ruled for an offside, but the referee allowed it to stand after checking with VAR.

Neither side could find the back of the net in the subsequent minutes, with the Gunners sneaking away with a point from Old Trafford.
