What Makes A Woman "Wife Material"? ¶
As we move further away from the 1950s, the definition of "wife material" has undergone significant changes. Gone are the days when a woman's primary role was to take care of the kids, keep the house in order, and have dinner ready promptly at 6 PM.
Thanks to the progress made in gender equality activism, men are now looking for partners who are equal, independent, and confident. In 2015, 11 men were asked what makes a woman "wife material," and their responses were enlightening.
According to them, a woman who loves in equal measure is a great start. "It just boils down to love and attraction," one man said. "I don’t mean any kind of romantic ideal, but like, proper love, where you love them so much that even when you’re in mid-argument and super angry, you still make sure they take an umbrella to work because it might rain."
Other signs of a woman being "wife material" include having insatiable intellectual curiosity, accepting without reservation, laughing, being able to cook, challenging him, being affectionate, having her own life, not publicly embarrassing him, loving his past mistakes, and being considerate.
These men are looking for partners who are confident, independent, and equal. They want women who can challenge them, support them, and love them for who they are.
