Arsenal Fans Criticize Granit Xhaka After Man United Draw

Granit Xhaka, the newly appointed captain of Arsenal, has come under fire from fans after the team's frustrating 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Monday night, September 30, 2019.

Scott McTominay opened the scoring for Manchester United just moments before the break, unleashing a powerful shot into the top corner from the edge of the box. However, Arsenal fans contend Xhaka should have done more to stop the shot, slamming the Swiss midfielder for appearing to duck underneath McTominay's effort.

One fan wrote on Twitter, "Xhaka is a coward. Club captain unwilling to have the ball hit him. Shameful." Another fan posted, "Xhaka is a joke. What sort of a captain ducks like that! He's a liability and a coward."

Xhaka was named Arsenal's full-time captain earlier in the week, replacing Laurent Koscielny who left the club in the summer. Despite the criticism, Arsenal was able to equalize in the 59th minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who almost had his goal ruled out for offside before VAR intervened.
