On October 1, 2019, police in Kajiado County arrested three Kenyan men for allegedly engaging in homosexual acts, a crime punishable by up to 14 years in prison under Kenya's penal code.
According to a police report, two of the men had traveled from Mombasa to Kajiado to engage in gay-sex, where they met a 24-year-old local man on Facebook.
The two men from Mombasa had agreed to meet their date on Sunday, but one of them brought a friend along. After arriving at the local man's house, they negotiated and then engaged in homosexual acts.
However, the local man refused to pay them, prompting the two men to report him to Kajiado Police Station. Police officers went to the local man's house and arrested the three before taking them to Kajiado Referral Hospital for a medical examination.
Once investigations are completed, the three men will be arraigned in court to face charges of engaging in homosexual acts.
