NTSA has suspended nine matatu saccos for violating traffic laws in Kenya.

According to NTSA Director General Francis Meja, the saccos were suspended for failing to comply with the Traffic Act 2014, which allows only 30 matatus per SACCO.

Meja warned motorists to avoid using the services of the suspended saccos.

The suspension took effect on September 26 and 27, 2019.

The suspended saccos include City Tram Sacco, Mwamba Sacco, Marvellous Travellers, MNGN Sacco, Fig Komba, Moonlight Coach Company, Mwirona Sacco, Huruma Mini Bus, and Transafaris.

NTSA has directed traffic police to impound the vehicles of the suspended saccos.
