On September 30, 2019, a dramatic shootout occurred on Juja Road in Nairobi, resulting in the deaths of four suspected gangsters.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the four men were part of a six-man gang that had robbed two residents of Whitecastle and attempted to escape with their car.
DCI sleuths from Pangani Police Station had launched a hunt for the suspects after receiving a report from the victims, and they eventually caught up with the gang on Juja Road.
When the officers tried to apprehend the suspects, a shootout ensued after they refused to surrender, resulting in the deaths of the four men.
The bodies of the deceased suspects were moved to City Mortuary, and police are still in pursuit of two other suspects who managed to escape during the fire exchange.
