Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced the appointment of Alex Gitari as the Acting Managing Director/CEO, effective October 1st, 2019. The appointment comes as KAA Managing Director, Jonny Andersen, has started his leave, with his contract due to expire on November 21st, 2019.
Gitari brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in various functions including development banking, accounting, and financial management. He has also worked in treasury management, resource mobilization, business development, and marketing, among other areas.
According to KAA Chairman Isaac Awuondo, Gitari's appointment is a testament to his skills and experience. Awuondo expressed gratitude to Andersen for his contributions during his tenure and wished him the best in his future endeavors.
The recruitment process for a new CEO/Managing Director will commence on October 1st, 2019, and will be conducted through a competitive process as per State Corporations Guidelines.
