On Saturday night, Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro was playing against Atletico in the Madrid derby, but his family was not as fortunate. According to reports, Casemiro's house was robbed while his wife and son were inside.

Fortunately, neither Casemiro's wife nor son were hurt in the incident, which took place while the two teams fought out a 0-0 draw.

This is not an isolated incident, as more than 15 footballers in Spain have had their houses broken into in the last few years, according to Spanish publication Marca.

One of those affected was Casemiro's Real Madrid teammate Lucas Vazquez, whose wife Maca Capilla took to social media to express her concern.

"One after the other," she wrote on Instagram. "When will we be able to live in peace in our own home? When will we be able to go to work in peace?"

Capilla and Vazquez's home was robbed last summer while they were on holiday, and they are not alone in their experience. Other footballers whose homes have been robbed include Gerard Pique, Karim Benzema, Jordi Alba, Alvaro Morata, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Arthur Melo, Joaquin, William Carvalho, Ezequiel Garay, Gabriel Paulista, Ramiro Funes Mori, and Geoffrey Kondogbia.

After the match, Casemiro was accompanied by police to his house and then to the police station to make a statement, according to AS.
