On September 30, 2019, Samsung expanded its Galaxy A-series lineup with the launch of the Galaxy A70s in India. This new smartphone is an update to the Galaxy A70 and boasts a new geometric pattern and holographic effect design, similar to the current A50s.

The Galaxy A70s features a massive upgrade for its main camera, now equipped with a 64MP f/1.8 main shooter. This is a notable upgrade, as Samsung's previous flagship camera was a 32MP f/1.7 main camera. However, it's worth noting that other brands, such as Realme, Xiaomi, and Vivo, were among the first to launch 64MP camera phones.

The 64MP shooter on the Galaxy A70s is coupled with an 8MP 123° ultra-wide camera and a 5MP live focus lens. The device is capable of shooting videos in 4K Ultra HD and gets Super Steady mode to shoot action videos, as well as Night Mode for extreme low light situations.

Although the primary camera's resolution seems very high, it would most likely only produce images of up to 16MP, combining four pixels into a single one for sharper images, especially in bad lighting conditions. This makes sense, as Samsung is boasting the A70s comes with a powerful night mode.

The main visual change is around the back, where we now have the 3D prism gradient design with a glossy finish. The rest of the hardware remains unchanged, with a choice of three colors: Prism Crush Red, Prism Crush White, and Prism Crush Black.

Under the hood, the Galaxy A70s is powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC paired with 6 or 8GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. The device also comes with advanced software, including an AI-based 'Game Booster' for an enhanced gaming experience, Dolby Atmos audio tuning, Knox security, and Samsung Pay.
