On September 30, 2019, a shocking revelation emerged from a leaked document related to Tob Cohen's divorce file, filed by his wife Sarah Wairimu.
According to the document, Tob Cohen had stopped paying his wife's Ksh. 50,000 monthly salary in January, weeks before his mysterious disappearance.
It is alleged that Cohen's decision was motivated by a desire to control his wife financially, forcing her to adhere to his demands.
However, Sarah Wairimu disputed this claim, stating that she and her husband had started their company, Tobs Limited, in 1991, where she was the Managing Director and he was the Chairman.
She described her husband as a controlling and sadistic individual who showed no care for her well-being.
Wairimu also claimed that Cohen had a history of withholding her monthly pay, not just once, but on multiple occasions, leaving her with no other source of income.
