On Sunday evening, a tragic road accident occurred at Matunda area along the Meru-Isiolo Highway, claiming the lives of four Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers.
According to Buuri OCPD Joseph Asugo, the vehicle carrying the KDF officers lost control and collided head-on with an oncoming private car.
The four soldiers died instantly, and their bodies were taken to Kiirua Mission Hospital Mortuary for preservation.
The occupants of the other vehicle, a man, his wife, and two children, sustained injuries and were rushed to Kiirua Mission Hospital for emergency treatment.
