On September 30, 2019, a disturbing video surfaced on Twitter, showing students of Starehe Girls High School coughing uncontrollably, sparking concerns about a contagious disease in the school.

According to the video, shared by Twitter user Abraham Mutai, the students were seen coughing like monkeys, leaving many concerned about their health and well-being.

Abraham Mutai, in a tweet, alleged that a seriously contagious disease had descended upon the school, and the Ministry of Health was yet to issue a statement.

"A seriously contagious disease has descended in Starehe Girls high school. Students coughing uncontrollably like monkeys. Ministry of Health @MOH_Kenya is yet to issue a statement. Are you aware of this or you are hearing from me right here?" Mutai tweeted.

The video has since attracted massive reactions from Twitter users, with some parents alleging that the school had sent them messages concerning the epidemic in the school, which stated different from what the video showed.

One concerned parent, Suleiman Mwangi, tweeted, "@StareheGirls Kindly a concerned parent. I know you sent us a text message and I am grateful but seeing this clip here makes me more concerned."

The Ministry of Health has yet to give a detailed information about the situation, leaving many wondering about the health and safety of the students.
