At the World Athletics Championships in Doha, Kenya's Nicholas Kiprop Kimeli and Jacob Krop are set to compete in the men's 5000m final on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 9:20pm.
Defending champion Muktar Edris of Ethiopia will lead the charge, aiming to retain the title he won in 2017. Edris will be joined by Telahun Bekele and Selemon Barega, who won gold medals at the 2016 and 2017 World Under-20 and Under-18 Championships, respectively.
Britain's Mo Farah, who won the title in 2015 and 2017, will not be competing this year, but Kenyan-born American Paul Chelimo will line up in the race in the hope of upgrading his bronze medal to gold.
Norway's Jacob Ingebrigsten, Filip Ingebrigsten, and Henrik Ingebrigsten will also compete, with Jacob breaking Norway's national record in the 5000m at the London Diamond League on July 20, 2019, with a time of 13:02.03.
