On a fateful night in Saba Saba estate, Mombasa, a middle-aged man identified as Karisa shocked his neighbours by throwing out a young woman, a waiter at a local joint, for allegedly breaking wind non-stop.
According to Japheth Kahindi, a neighbour and close friend of Karisa, the drama unfolded after a night of drinking at a local bar where Karisa had fallen for the young woman.
‘She was the one who was serving our table. My friend Karisa insisted that no other waiter should serve us. He had apparently fallen for the girl who he kept giving tips,’ Kahindi told Crazy Monday.
However, the romance was short-lived as Karisa's patience wore thin due to the woman's alleged flatulence. ‘I have not slept a wink since we came here an hour ago. I also can hardly breathe. This woman is a walking gas cylinder, farting endlessly and I might die of constipation,’ Karisa is said to have shouted.
Despite the woman's silence and refusal to leave, Karisa eventually fished Sh2,000 from his pocket and asked her to take a taxi home. However, the woman insisted it was unsafe outside, and the plot caretaker intervened, taking her to his small cubicle.
