Kenya's Polygamous Politicians and Businessmen ¶

Kenya is home to several prominent individuals who have publicly acknowledged their polygamous relationships. While some have opted to keep their wives out of the limelight, others have proudly flaunted their multiple marriages.
1. Oscar Sudi ¶
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi is one of the many Kenyan politicians who have publicly acknowledged their polygamous relationships. Sudi is married to two women, Lilian Sudi and Ann Sudi.
2. John De Mathew ¶
The late Mugithi Maestro John De Mathew was a proud husband to two wives, Sarafina Wairimu Mwangi and Caroline. Speaking during his burial, Sarafina warned those who wanted to incite them to stop, adding that they had been together for a long time.

3. Francis Atwoli ¶
COTU Boss Francis Atwoli is another prominent Kenyan who has publicly acknowledged his polygamous relationship. Atwoli is currently married to TV host Mary Kilobi, who is his third wife.
4. Wycliffe Oparanya ¶
Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya is a man of the people and a man with a big heart. He has two wives, Priscillah Oparanya and Caroline Oparanya.
“Kwani mimi ni punda wa kuoa bibi kumi (am I a donkey to marry 10 wives)? There is no vacancy for another wife. Some ladies parade themselves on streets to tempt me, but that chapter is closed for me.
5. David Gikaria ¶
The vibrant Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria is married to three wives and is not shy to flaunt them. He caused a storm weeks ago after introducing two of his three wives during a public rally.
“I am the Nakuru Town East MP. And, when one has a wife or wives, he has to acknowledge. I have several Nakuru Town East first ladies. Let me introduce my first ladies to you,”
He noted that one of his wives was not present at the function, suggesting she had just welcomed a new baby.
“This one is Veronica Wairimu, she is the First Lady number one. And this one is Dorcas Wangui, she is also the First Lady number one B. First Lady number one C is not here, but I will bring her here another day,”
6. Jackson Kibor ¶
Prominent Eldoret businessman Jackson Kibor is a polygamist at heart. Kibor divorced his third wife Naomi Jeptoo Kibor in December 2018 and his second wife Josphine Jepkoech in October last year. His first wife had died years ago.
Kibor and Naomi had been married for 43 years.
