On September 30, 2019, Zanaco secured a spot in the Confederation Cup group stages with a 5-1 aggregate win over Bolton City of Mauritius.

The Zambian team dominated the pre-group stages, with Okutu scoring in the 24th minute, Guily Manziba adding a second in the 56th minute, and Damiano Kola putting his name on the score sheet in the 84th minute to lead 3-0 at home.

After a 2-1 win in the first leg, Zanaco's Coach, Numba Mumamba, expressed satisfaction with the team's overall performance but emphasized the need for strikers to be clinical in their finishing.

Now, Zanaco will wait to face one of the teams relegated from the Champions League qualifiers to determine their opponent in the group stages.

With one more round to play, the nation can breathe a sigh of relief as Zanaco inches closer to the group stages of the Confederation Cup.
