On Sunday, the Nyeri Golf Club played host to the CIC golf tournament, attracting a field of 85 golfers from various clubs.
Khilan Shah, a handicap 11 golfer, took the top spot with an impressive score of 40 stableford points, tying both nines at 20 points each.
The tournament saw golfers from Nyeri Golf Club, Nanyuki Sports Club, Nyahururu Golf Club, and Nakuru Golf Club competing for the prizes.
Khilan expressed surprise at his win, stating, "I did not come out here with the hope of winning despite the fact that I have been playing some good golf over the past couple of months. The win is more of a surprise."
He also noted the coincidence of playing alongside Rose Komu, the lady winner, who is also left-handed.
Other winners included Gerald Gakima of Kenya Railways Golf Club, who scored 37 stableford points, and Father Mbutu Githinji, who took the men's second prize with 36 points.
On the ladies' side, Rose Komu emerged victorious with 38 stableford points, while Mercy Mburu took the ladies' second prize with 33 points.
The tournament also featured prizes for the longest drive and four twos, with Raphael Kimani and Mercy Mburu taking home the respective awards.
