At the 2019 Doha World Championships, American sprinter Christian Coleman, the 23-year-old world 100m champion, withdrew from the 200m event on the day after his victory.
According to Coleman's manager Emanuel Hudson, the athlete was still feeling the strain from his performance the previous evening and did not leave the stadium until after 1am.
‘He is sore from yesterday and didn’t leave the stadium until after 1am,’ Emanuel Hudson said in a text message to Reuters.
‘Couldn’t take the strain today.’
Coleman's withdrawal from the 200m event came a day after he won the blue-ribbon 100m event.
