Former Premier League star Jermain Defoe was involved in a horrific car accident in Scotland on September 28, 2019, after Rangers' 5-0 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium.

According to Mirror UK, Defoe was taken into custody by police near Clyde Tunnel in Glasgow shortly after the accident.

A witness to the accident described the scene, stating that Defoe's Range Rover collided with two other vehicles, including a BMW M4.

The witness claimed that the BMW M4 was heading south when it lost control and collided with Defoe's vehicle.

Defoe, however, took to social media to thank his fans for their well-wishes and to confirm that he was unharmed in the accident.

"Thanks for the kind messages. I'm good," Defoe wrote on Twitter.
