On September 29, 2019, a devastating accident occurred at Precious Talent Junior School, claiming the lives of 8 students and injuring 64 others.
Education CS George Magoha responded to the tragedy by ordering the immediate closure of the school and transferring its pupils to other institutions.
However, National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale was quick to rebuke Magoha's actions, accusing him of inefficiency and negligence.
According to Duale, Magoha had ample time to prevent the tragedy but chose to wait until it struck to take action.
As a result, Duale vowed to rally the President to sack Magoha and replace him with someone who could work tirelessly to ensure quality education standards and pupil safety.
Furthermore, Duale called on the DCI and DPP to arrest Magoha and his team, as well as the school's proprietor, Moses Wainaina, and present them in a court of law.
